No, we did not drive or fly to an out-of-town getaway. We're spending the weekend at my parent's house. It is less than an hour's ride from where we live but the place always makes me feel like we're miles away from the city.
This is not the house I grew up in. I wish it was. Unfortunately the house I spent most of my childhood was a 2-storey structure located in a flood-prone area where the rain is not a pre-requisite for the streets to be submerged in grimy water.
Anyway, these weekend visits / overnights in my parents place is becoming a little too frequent in the past several months. And it's more than me missing my Nanay's home-cooked meals.
It breaks the monotony of living in a cramped neighborhood. Wouldn't you love waking up to this scenery every morning? Or hang out under that big mango tree?
How about lounging in this swing chair while you read a book?
Or just simply give the little fella some room to run and explore?
It's definitely worth the trip.
